To a castle belongs a falconer! In good weather, house falconer Birdlive will take you through the history of falconry in the Netherlands and its magnificent birds of prey. You can admire the majestic birds up close and maybe even see them fly.
Attention! The raptor program is outdoors and free to attend, but will only take place if weather permits. Want to make sure the falconer will be there on the day you want to come? Then check this site on the day before you head out the door.
In the Middle Ages, every self-respecting castle had a falconer. Only a free man was allowed to keep birds of prey, so it was also a status symbol. House falconer Birdlive regularly gives workshops on and demonstrations with various birds of prey, both indoors and outdoors, during school vacations.
Als het weer het toelaat, is de valkenier deze zomer vanaf 8 juli tot en met 12 augustus elke woensdagmiddag op het kasteelplein te vinden. Wil je ook het museum bezoeken, dan kun je vooraf online je tickets boeken.
